We politely request that you consider the local neighbourhood when dropping and collecting students at the Academy. Local residents are having difficulty with access to and from their properties, many of whom are key workers. This is due to cars blocking the streets and junctions to the new housing estates next to the Academy.
In the mornings only, we do allow parents to drive in the gates and around the roundabout, with a brief stop to drop off their child, but we cannot allow this in the afternoon due to access priority for the school buses and the large number of students leaving the building at the same time.
Please can you think about using other areas for drop off/pick up to ensure the local community has proper access to their streets and to ensure the safety of all our students at the start and end of the day.
Due to Safeguarding policies and some students taking their morning and lunch break at the front of the Academy, we are unable to open the vehicle gates to parents, carers, visitors or deliveries.
Please note that during the times of 11.10am to 11.30am and 1.30pm to 2.10pm the gates will remain closed.
Students needing to leave for an appointment can sign out as normal and leave via the pedestrian gate.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
The Academy has now ceased to operate a bus service from September 2021. This decision has not been made lightly and we understand the impact this will have for some families.
The review of the bus service began in March 2020, due to how undersubscribed the service was and an increase in late payments. It was no longer cost effective to operate or for the Academy to subsidize this service. We made the decision to continue running the service for the 2020/21 academic year to see if numbers improved but unfortunately there was little change.
Students who are issued with a North Northamptonshire County Council pass will be able to use their pass on the public bus services during term time from September.
Apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.
