Police Thank Kingswood Students

On Tuesday 10th January 2012, Chief Inspector Andy Cox and Sergeant Daryl Lyons visited Kingswood to congratulate, thank and present certificates to students from Year 10-13 who took part in some very high profile Police training.

Over the last few months Northamptonshire Police have been conducting some very innovative and acclaimed scenario training with their Officers on the Kingswood school site.  This involves the Police Officers conducting role play around high priority incidents including domestic violence, missing persons and harassment.  Our students took on the roles of young people who were being interviewed as victims of such incidents.  This was a daunting and difficult experience involving a script, the role play with the Police Officer and the presence of expert Police observers.

Our students rose to the challenge as always and the Police were very impressed with the students, their contribution and the school in general.  Chief Inspector Cox congratulated all the students individually and spoke to them about the importance of their contribution to what is a very significant Police training programme.

Many of the students were already interested in a Police career, and some more so now.  Chief Inspector Cox informed them that their contribution would be valuable in pursuing their careers and Sergeant Lyons stated that any of the students could contact him if they needed help or advice with regard to a Police career.

The following students received certificates for their work with the Police:

Jasmine Barry, Rosemary Moffatt, Stuart Littlejohn, Sheree Softley, Smiljana Mijic, Amy Pyper, Jacqueline Stewart, Emma Witt, Josh Roberts, Dzintars Laudins, Ellis Forsyth, Kevin Kenna, Liberty Willis, Naomi Dickson, Sophie Monteith, Celine Correau, Izzy Nottage, Megan McGill and Richard Conway.

Well done to all, they were a credit to themselves and to the School.
