Friends of Kingswood LNR

On Saturday, four of our students joined David Tristram and Val Littlemore with the Friends of Kingswood Local Nature Reserve in a spot of ‘litter picking’ in the woods opposite our school.

We were all properly kitted out with gloves and litter pickers and we filled quite a few black bin liners with the rubbish that people had thrown about so carelessly.  The Friends of Kingswood Local Nature Reserve are a group of like-minded people who meet on the third Saturday of every month to work in the wood.  Sometimes they pick up litter, other times they might be clearing sections of the wood to make it easier for people to get around.  The area is a nature reserve and lots of people enjoy walking there in the woods on a regular basis.  The four students who took part were: Benjamin Spence, Courtney Wyburn, Toya Murray and Ashley Munro.  They did a fantastic couple of hours work. So, well done to all of them.  If you would like to join them, there will be a further opportunity in January for you to come along.
