Cinco Productions present Despicable Me 2

As part of our Year 13 A-level Business course we had to plan and stage an event.  In order to do this we formed a group and called ourselves ‘Cinco Productions’.

Our aim was to host a cinema night, for Year 7 & 8 students inside The Kingswood Secondary Academy.

On Tuesday 26th November, the yellow carpet was out as ‘Despicable Me 2 – produced by Illuminati Productions was premiered on our  screen to kick-start the event in style!

The students enjoyed the hilarious animated adventure which saw the return of Gru (Steve Carell) who was retiring from the life of a super villain, unwittingly recruited by the Anti-Villain league to help deal with a powerful new super criminal.  He was supported in this by the girls, the unpredictable minions and a host of new and outrageously funny characters.

There was a fantastic turnout for the event, with many year 7 and 8 students enjoying both the film and the delicious home-made popcorn. Before and during the event we gave attendees the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win the DVD after the screening.  We would like to congratulate the winner, ‘Courtney McNamee’ we hope you enjoy it!

Hosting the event helped us to raise over £100, which will be donated towards Cancer Research.

On behalf of the group, we would like to thank everyone who attended the event and also those who helped us organise beforehand and who helped out on the night.
