Prom Fayre

Year 13 Students stage a Prom Fayre & Fashion Show

After months of planning and hard work Klejda Cupi, Stephanie Ross and Lucy Berrido staged a Prom Fayre as part of their A Level Business Course with the support of many local businesses as well as staff and students of the Kingswood School.

The girls chose to stage a Prom Fayre as they knew from their own personal experience how stressful and time consuming making personal plans for the school prom could be. Their vision was to bring everything a student might need into the Kingswood School and at the same time raise funds for Penyem village school, Gambia.

Models were recruited from Year 11 and with the generous help of Bonnie from ‘Bonnie Brides’ of Corby each model was fitted with six beautiful outfits. There were a variety of dresses ranging from short to long, sparkly to elegant and fitted to princess! The male models wore a variety of suits and traditional highland kilts and joined the girls to perform a spectacular Fashion Show at the event. The models were all fabulous, in fact so good that several of them were asked to do further photo shoots by some of the companies. A big thank you to Jade Walker, Emily Kier, Nikki Berridge, Celine Correau, Michelle Wieczorek, Tabatha Egbetamah and Ciarran Dickson. Each of the models received complimentary luxury make-overs and hair styling from The Vanity Lounge and Mode Hair Design, both of Corby. A huge thank you must go to Bonnie of ‘Bonnie Brides’ for all her help and support throughout, also to Pete McLeod who put all the music together for the catwalk show and then managed it on the night.

During the evening there was an opportunity to see demonstrations from the different companies and to discuss ideas. These were given by Studio 21, The Vanity Lounge, Mode Hair Design, Sarah’s Hair and Beauty and Nicola Kiers Tanning and Beauty, all of Corby. To add to the excitement on the night there was a raffle with generous prizes donated as follows: A complete make-over from Vanity Lounge to include hair, make up, tan and nails, a bracelet from Grace & Co, a silver beauty package from Sarah’s, £50 of vouchers from Studio 21 and HD browns from Mode Hair Design.

The hall was packed on the night and the event was a great success raising over £200 for the Penyem village school, Gambia. Thank you to everyone who supported the event and very well done girls for doing such a superb job, not only on the night but in the months of planning, hard work and negotiating with businesses that led up to such an amazing event!
