Message from Principal

Dear Parents/Carers

Welcome back to Term 2. I hope that you all managed some rest and recuperation during the break. As I’m sure you are aware, I wrote in Issue 3 of our newsletter about how important it is for pupils to use a good quality bike lock to secure their bikes when leaving them at the Academy.

I am pleased to say that the Police agreed to come into the Academy to conduct security marking on all and any bikes that pupils brought on two specific days. Therefore, on Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 November, four neighbourhood wardens and four PCSOs came into the Academy during lunchtime to fit security tags to bikes free-of-charge. It only took a few minutes for two people to do each bike.

I hoped that all pupils who ride their bikes to school would take advantage of this fantastic service being offered by the Police, and many did. We hope to repeat the process later in the year, enabling pupils who missed the opportunity to have their bikes security marked.

The Academy accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen personal items on the Academy site.  Bikes and scooters are left at the pupil’s own risk.
