Year 9 Options Information Evening

We held this year's Options Information Evening for parents and students of Year 9 on Thursday 5th March 2015. The evening included two formal presentations in the Main Hall, where parents and students had the opportunity to find out more about the options on offer next year.

In the Atrium area, Curriculum leaders from each Faculty were available to answer any questions about their subjects at Key Stage 4. A large number of current Year 10 and Year 11 students worked alongside their subject teachers in all faculty areas, to offer information and advice about choices for Year 10. They shared their high quality work to show the reality of the courses, which was invaluable for the students considering their option choices.

We were also joined by Ian Doherty, our Choices advisor, each Progress Leader, and Lilith Bateman, Director of Sixth Form, who were able to speak individually to families about careers and post-16 destinations.

Congratulations to Elijah Munro and Silvana Cupi for speaking so eloquently to the parents and students in the Main Hall presentations. Their experiences of choosing their option subjects this time last year were full of sound and honest advice.

A comprehensive curriculum guide 'Options 2015' was distributed during the evening and is also available on the Academy website in the Student area. We hope parents and students found the evening to be informative and useful in offering guidance to make informed choices about Options for next year.

All students are now considering their important choices during form time with tutors, ready to return the forms for the 23rd March deadline.
