Leisure & Tourism Trip to Xscape, Milton Keynes

Our GCSE Leisure and Tourism students recently visited Xscape, Milton Keynes.  The trip was organised by our A Level Business students.

Here is an account of the day by Catia Lopes, Year 10:

For our GCSE Leisure and Tourism course we needed to visit a Leisure Facility.  The A Level Business students organised a trip to go to Xscape in Milton Keynes.

We left school at 9.15 a.m. in the mini bus and it took about an hour to reach Xscape.  Once we got there we got changed and went out onto the slope in the SNO! Zone for tobogganing.  We all looked really funny as we had to wear helmets which were a bit smelly!  We had to carefully walk up the slope to the top where we got on tiny little sledges.  We had to give ourselves a little push to get down the slope but once you got started you went really fast. It was loads of fun but I kept crashing into the safety net.  It was really cold in the SNO! Zone but we got really hot running up the slopes and some of us got soaked from the snow spraying up at us.

We had some free time for lunch where we could look around at all the shops.  They have lots of food places like KFC, Subway and McDonalds and there are loads of nice restaurants.  There are lots of shops that sell skiing and snowboarding equipment.

In the afternoon we went to the bowling alley.  We had to change our shoes to special bowling ones, they were really old looking and not very fashionable but it was ok as we all had to wear them, even the teachers!  We went in small groups and played two games of bowling.  It was lots of fun.

We got back to school at about 3 p.m. just in time to go home!  We had a really good day and have some nice pictures to remember it by.
